Program: FACTOR Annual Legislative Luncheon
State and local elected officials are invited to meet with Collaborative members for discussions on topics of concern in our county. Domestic Violence is on the rise; critical needs continue to keep our food pantries and assistance programs busy and underage drinking is hot topic as well. We will also hear from our legislators as to the expected issues they will be discussion when General Assembly convenes in January.
Workforce Investment ActIf you work with or are associated with adults that have been a casualty of our slow to recover job market- this program is for you!
If you work with or are associated with youth that meet the following qualifying conditions: low income (family), between 14 &21, (youth) receiving TANF or in foster care system- this program is for you! Workforce Investment Act (WIA) offers a comprehensive range of services consisting of workforce development activities to assist the job seeker- adults, dislocated workers and youth. Dorothy Herzberg will share information about existing comprehensive services for adults and dislocated workers, including the opportunity to have job training/occupational skills training paid. Dawn Oparah will share information for a WIA Youth Program that will provide education, training, and employment opportunities for low-income youth. Career Exploration/Internship Program will provide the following:

Three groups from local schools; Fayette County High, Whitewater and Lovejoy High Schools created powerful videos (35-40 seconds) designed to share the message that underage drinking can have severe consequences.
