Prime For Life® Program
PRIME For Life® is an evidence-based, experiential program that encourages individuals to think through their attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors before making high-risk drug or alcohol choices. Prime For Life integrates substance misuse prevention and education, motivational interviewing, and cognitive-behavioral methods to help participants reflect on their decisions and explore their perceptions of harm and consequences when using marijuana, alcohol, and other substances. Every program element is ultimately designed to decrease high-risk alcohol and drug use, as well as reduce recidivism.
Our instructors are Fayette County-based professional prevention, recovery and counseling facilitators who are certified to implement the Prime for Life Program. |
Who should take a Prime For Life® class with Fayette FACTOR?
"I personally learned about the different stages of addiction and how they can change depending on your choices." |
Prime For Life® is an excellent program of awareness for individuals who engage in high-risk behavior. It is a great way to begin a self-assessment process and determine one’s own level of substance use. Good candidates for this program include impaired driving offenders, college students, and young people charged with marijuana alcohol and other drug offenses. Prime For Life can also be useful for persons who wonder whether there are THC or other substance use problems among their family or friends. Because Prime For Life® includes both prevention and intervention content, it is also designed in a way that serves parents, Employee Assistance Programs, court systems, school systems, faith-based organizations and other interested community members.
"Making better choices, and just because you think your tolerance is high doesn’t mean that you're safe." |
