Economic Impact of Child Abuse- Krista Gonce
Regional Prevention Coordinator -Georgia Center for Child Advocacy
Georgia Center for Child Advocacy is leading a statewide initiative training adults to
prevent, recognize and (appropriately) react to child sexual abuse.
Next to murder, child sexual abuse is the most expensive crime in America.
According to a Department of Justice formula, it is estimated that the immediate and tangible costs of
child sexual abuse in FAYETTE County is $1.1 million annually.
However, there is no measure for the intangible costs…
Come hear from Krista and find out how YOU can be a part of the
Community Plan to reach our tipping point that will shift the culture around
prevention-it is EVERYONE’S responsibility.
Please RSVP to Becky Smith by Wednesday, November 21 (before Thanksgiving) or Friday 23rd if you are in the office! We need a good count for food and materials.
Hope you all have a GREAT Thanksgiving!
