History
Who is Factor?!
FACTOR (Fayette Alliance Coordinating Teamwork, Outreach and Resources) is a Family Connection collaborative umbrella organization, part of a statewide network. We are one of the 159 counties who make up Georgia Family Connection, under the support of Georgia Family Connection Partnership, a public/private partnership created by the State of Georgia and funders from the private sector. Collectively, our goal is to improve the well-being of Georgia’s children, families, and communities.
History
FACTOR has been in existence in Fayette County since November 2000. Though much has changed in the county and even in the collaborative, many things have remained consistent throughout the years. Our vision, mission and goals have always been focused on bringing all areas of the community together to build a safe and healthy Fayette County for all its citizens. The collaborative has grown in numbers and in diversity. In 2004 when FACTOR rejoined the Georgia Family Connection Partnership, the list of collaborative members included 19 very busy human services professionals. Our current membership includes over 125 partners, representing many segments of our county. General collaborative meetings are held at the YMCA, 4th Monday of each month, 11 :30-1 :00. Working committees meet at other times as their schedules permit.
Initiatives
FACTOR has several initiatives which fall under the organizational umbrella of support. These include Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, Prevent Child Abuse Fayette, Fayette Meth Task Force and ENCORE! Fayette Senior Adult Leadership program.
